In short: No tracking, no analytics, no advertising IDs, and no personal data collection — neither on this website nor inside Obscure Essentials apps. This website is static and does not use cookies (except those strictly necessary for your browser to load pages).

1) Website

• No analytics / tracking: We do not measure visitors, do not profile users, and do not use third-party trackers.
• No cookies for marketing: We do not use advertising or marketing cookies.
• No contact forms: There are no forms that transmit data to us. You may contact us via your email client.

Hosting notice (server logs): Like virtually any website, your web host may process basic server log data (e.g., IP address, timestamp, requested page) to deliver the site and protect against abuse. We do not use these logs to identify you, and we do not run analytics or tracking based on them.

2) QLProviderInspector (Obscure Essentials macOS app)

• No network transmission: The app does not send any data over the network.
• Local processing only: It inspects the file or folder you provide and reads local metadata and local extension Info.plists.
• Optional access: If you grant optional access to /Applications, a security-scoped bookmark is stored locally in the app sandbox so you don’t have to grant it every launch.

3) Sharing / selling

We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not use ad networks or advertising identifiers.

4) Data retention

We do not store usage data. If you email us, we retain the email conversation as long as needed to reply and for reasonable record-keeping (you can request deletion where applicable).

5) Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or object to processing of your personal data. For EU/EEA/Germany, GDPR rights apply (including the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority). For the United States, certain state laws provide similar rights.
